We’re a few days away from the close of 2025. Looking back, we’re grateful for all that you contributed to our fantastic community this year. Thank you to all the volunteers whose energy is our flame. We hope you enjoyed the holidays and are ready for a strong start to 2026. The printed Montlake flyer will be coming to your doorstep in the last weeks of January!

The board approved the budget for CY2026. If you’re interested to see our plans, you can view it here. If there are questions or concerns, please reach out to info@montlake.net.

Have your voice heard!

A group of neighbors is collecting input on what we wish to see in the old Hoppin/Montlake Market lot that was used for staging of the 520 construction. Check out this page for current information on the project.

Input for City Council

Do you have ideas for things that could be improved for our neighborhood? Is there something you think the city needs to address? This can be anything from a bad sidewalk to ideas for beautification.

Rachel represents our neighborhood and is looking for input. Fill out this form with any ideas you have and she will bring them up quarterly.

Upcoming Classes at the Montlake Community Center

There are great things happening at the Community Center in January! Be sure to check these out:

There is a "new year, renewed you" deal in January 2026 - folks can attend their first yoga class for free at Montlake CC for the month of January! (Lifelong Programs Not Included)

2026 yoga classes are the following:

Evening Flow and Restore Yoga - Wednesdays from 6:30-7:30pm
Hatha Yoga - Saturdays from 9:15 - 10:15am.

Montlake Nights at UW Games in February

Mark your calendars and get your tickets! The Montlake Community Club is attending game nights for UW Women's Basketball and Gymnastics. Part of the ticket proceeds will go towards raising funds for MCC. Please use the links below to reserve your spot!

2026 Montlake Garden & Art Tour

Saturday, June 27th 11am - 3pm

Mark your calendar! The Montlake Community Club is excited to announce the second annual Montlake Garden & Art Tour, Saturday, June 27, 2026. The self-guided tour through the Montlake neighborhood will offer a chance to slow down, take a stroll and discover the creativity growing right next door. This year's tour will feature all new gardens and artwork and a chance to meet the creators.

We are currently looking for artists and gardens for the tour. Do you or someone you know have a special garden in Montlake to share? Are you an artist in Montlake? A Monthly Tip from Montlake Emergency Hub Team

Montlake Emergency Hub will be sharing tips from the Emergency Management Division of Washington, www.DisasterReadyWashington.com, to help you prepare your household for disasters. The goal is to spend one hour each month focusing on a different activity. January's tip is to create a Communications Plan.

During a disaster you may be separated from family, loved ones, and friends. Phone signals and the internet can be overwhelmed or down during a disaster and it is difficult to contact or send messages to loved ones. Often it is easier to connect with someone outside of the disaster area. For this reason, it is recommended that you ask a family member or friend at least 100 miles away to be your contact person. This person will be able to send and receive messages to and from those in the affected area and keep everyone informed of location and status. Complete an out-of-area contact card for each member to keep in their wallet, purse, backpack, or phone. Find a printable contact card at https://mil.wa.gov/asset/5e4d632c1f293.

You can also mark yourself safe and search for others on the American Red Cross website: www.redcross.org/safeandwell or through Facebook's safety check at https://www.facebook.com/about/safetycheck/.

Stay informed with local officials the Emergency Alert System and Wireless Emergency Alerts. Register for alerts at https://mil.wa.gov/alerts.

Useful Neighborhood resources

From Neighbor Leslie: As more leaves fall, did you know that you’re responsible for your curb as a homeowner? Seattle storm drains flow directly to rivers, lakes, creeks, and the Puget Sound, acting as a conduit for trash and organic pollutants. It’s your responsibility to keep the gutter clean. In fact, there is a volunteer program called Adopt a Storm Drain
