We’re bringing back the Montlake Tradition! MCC is coordinating an afternoon of Caroling around the neighborhood. You can sign up to Carol or host a stop for Carolers with winter treats.

Caroling will happen on Saturday December 13th from 3-5pm.

Evergreen Pickup and Bakesale for Montlake Elementary

Montlake Evergreen Sale Pickup will be on Saturday December 6th from 10am-1pm at Montlake Elementary. Along with pickup, there will be a bakesale to benefit the Montlake PTA and efforts to enrich the education of students in the community.

Arboretum Holiday Sale on December 6th and 7th

The Arboretum’s annual holiday sale, Gifts & Greens Galore, returns to the Graham Visitors Center on Saturday, December 6 and Sunday, December 7, from 10am to 4pm. It features a great selection of handcrafted botanical decorations and nature-inspired gifts, including many local, seasonal specialty items.

Enjoy relaxing live music as you browse. Shop for everyone on your list, while supporting tree care, environmental education, and volunteerism at the park!

Gingerbread Making Class at Oxbow

December 7th and December 18th 5-7pm

Come build gingerbread houses with us! In this class, we'll demonstrate how to mix cookie dough, cut out our own cookie shapes, then assemble and decorate gingerbread houses. You'll go home with a completed house, cookies to decorate at home, and recipes for cookies and icing. Light snacks provided.

Recommended for kids ages 8-12 (but there's some flexibility if this sounds like a good fit for your kid outside of that range). Registration includes one accompanying adult.

Upcoming Classes at the Montlake Community Center

There are great things happening at the Community Center in December. Be sure to check these out:

• "Paint Your Pet" special workshop on Dec 13th from 12-2:30pm. Call 206-684-4736 or stop by the center to register.

• Winter Registration opens on December 9th at Noon! We've got some exciting adult/youth pottery classes, watercolor/pastel classes, pickleball classes, mid-winter break camps for kids, etc., coming up!  

• There is a "new year, renewed you" deal in January 2026 - folks can attend their first yoga class for free at Montlake CC for the month of January! (Lifelong Programs Not Included) 

• Our 2026 yoga classes are the following:

• Evening Flow and Restore Yoga - Wednesdays from 6:30-7:30pm

• Hatha Yoga - Saturdays from 9:15 - 10:15am.

Public Safety Survey Closing Today

Seattle University is administering the annual citywide Seattle Public Safety Survey, which is accessible at publicsafetysurvey.org from October 15th through November 30th.

The purpose of the survey is to solicit feedback on public safety and security concerns from those who live and/or work in Seattle. A report on the survey results will be provided to the Seattle Police Department to help them better understand your neighborhood’s safety and security concerns, and community-police dialogues will be held in May-August 2026 to provide an opportunity for police-community engagement about the results. More information on the Seattle Public Safety Survey, which is part of the Seattle Police Department’s Micro-Community Policing Plans (SPD MCPP), can be found on the SPD MCPP website.

Montlake Emergency Hub Prep Team Needs YOU!

Montlake is organizing an Emergency Hub to provide local community support during disasters. Our Hub will also provide monthly tips for disaster preparedness. This month we are offering gift ideas to show you care.
