As summer comes to a close and back to school is in full swing, there’s a lot happening in the neighborhood- the Yard Sale, the Greek Festival, a Bridge Celebration, a Neighborhood Fundraiser, and a New Tree Tour. In this edition, you’ll also find a special update and call to action on neighborhood rezoning.

Montlake Yard Sale on Sunday Sept 7

Cleaning out your garage and closets? There’s still time to sign up as a seller. Looking for great finds? The 11th Annual Montlake Yard Sale will happen on September 7th from 10am-2pm. Montlake Elementary Reopening Ceremony

Seattle Public Schools is hosting a ribbon cutting ceremony at the recently renovated Montlake Elementary. Details here.
When: Tuesday September 2nd 2pm-4pm
Where: 2025 E Calhoun Street

St. Demetrios' 2025 Greek Festival is happening Friday, September 19, through Sunday, September 21, in Seattle's Montlake neighborhood. Festival hours are noon - 9pm on Friday September 19, 10am - 9pm on Saturday September 20, and 11am - 6pm on Sunday September 21.

Traditional Greek food, music, dancing, and culture will be in abundance when the grounds of St. Demetrios Church, located at 2100 Boyer Avenue East, transform into a Greek paradise.

The Seattle Greek Festival is a cashless event. Any major credit and debit cards are accepted at all booths for food, drink, or items ordered throughout the festival.

Montlake Bridge Centennial Celebration

Join neighbors in celebrating the 100th birthday of the Montlake bridge. Swing by the 520 lid on Saturday 9/27 to congregate with neighbors in celebrating this historic neighborhood event.

Montlake Tree Tour

We're thrilled to announce a new event for the neighborhood. On Saturday, October 11th, resident expert Arthur Lee Jacobson will give a tree tour to neighbors!

The tour will be throughout Montlake and meet up info will be provided upon registration.

Date : October 11th

Time: 9:30am-11:00am

Limited to 15 attendees

Suggested donation of $10 to support MCC events like this!

October 16 Gateway Parks Fall Fundraiser

Did you know that there are two Community Owned parks in Montlake? New for this year, we are having a fundraiser at Oxbow.

Come enjoy food and wine from Cafe Lago and Oxbow, learn more about the parks, and meet neighbors.

You don’t want to miss this! Tickets are $15/ticket. Limited capacity of 50 people, so sign up soon.

Fall Happenings at the Community Center

There are a few events happening soon at the Montlake Community Center as well as weekly drop in sessions for dodgeball, pickleball, badminton, tot gym, and more!

Workshop: Indoor Plants 101 on September 27th from 12-3pm. Cost is $45, ages 16+. Flyer is attached.
Our annual "Fall Fest" will be taking place on Friday, October 24th from 5:30-7pm. Fun for the whole family!
Dungeon & Dragons special "one shot" events! Cost is $35, and is specifically geared for Adults
- Beginner D&D Events: 9/20 & 11/15
- Beyond D&D: 10/18
- D&D DM Crash Course: 12/20

Emergency Hub Call for Volunteers

Montlake is working to establish an emergency preparedness hub, similar to other neighborhoods which will provide information and resources in the event of a natural disaster. The team is looking for volunteers to help lead the effort and establish a hub for Montlake. If you’re interested, please email info@montlake.net.

The new Montlake Gear Shop is open for business! We heard your requests for new sizes and a wide range of gear. There are shirts, hoodies, hats, water bottles, bags, and stickers. There’s something for all ages and items will ship directly to you or a loved one.
