We hope you enjoyed the summer edition of the printed Montlake Flyer! As we enter into the last month before “back to school” time, there are many ways to enjoy the last bit of summer in our beautiful neighborhood.

Seattle Night Out- August 5th

Get ready for a fun evening of block parties to get to know others in the neighborhood. Currently, there are three block parties registered on the public map in Montlake.

Only a few spots left! Montlake Architecture Walking Tour on August 23rd

Back by popular demand, neighbor Lyle Bicknell will host a Montlake Architecture Walking Tour on 8/23 at 10am.

It’s a treat to learn more about the history and styles of homes over the 90 minute tour. You’ll be blown away by how much there is to learn. Last year both tours sold out very quickly so be sure to secure your spot! Register here.

Community Beaver Night

Come and learn about the neighborhood beavers and efforts from Beavers Northwest and Volunteers for the Habitat Restoration of South Portage Bay.

Street Theatre Players Readings from the Stage Wall

Montlake Elementary Reopening Ceremony

Seattle Public Schools is hosting a ribbon cutting ceremony at the recently renovated Montlake Elementary. Details here.

Montlake Yard Sale -

Emergency Hub Call for Volunteers

Montlake is working to establish an emergency preparedness hub, similar to other neighborhoods which will provide information and resources in the event of a natural disaster. The team is looking for volunteers to help lead the effort and establish a hub for Montlake. If you’re interested, please email info@montlake.net.

Call for Woodworking and Sign Making Skills

Did you know there are two community owned parks in Montlake? The East and West Gateway Parks! Many don’t know they are even there! The team who cares for the park is looking for volunteers to help make signs so more can enjoy these special areas. If you have such skills, please email gatewayparks@montlake.net.

Support community resilience in Seattle!

Share your ideas about how micromobility and community-based resilience hubs could be used to support disaster response and recovery in your community. Oklahoma State University and the University of North Carolina at Charlotte are conducting a study funded by the National Science Foundation (Award #2242719) with a goal of the research is to learn more about how Seattle households might use micromobility in a disaster. The survey will take approximately 10-15 minutes to complete, and you must be 18 years of age or older to participate. If you live, work, or spend time in Seattle, your input is needed! https://bit.ly/Micromobility_Resilience_Seattle

Montlake Gear Flash Sale

Have you had a chance to check out the new Montlake gear? You can find it at our gear shop on the website. We still have a few items with the old designs available and leftover picnic blankets from the Garden tour. All shirts are $5 and picnic blankets are $25.
