Rezoning Task Force Call to Action!

The Seattle One Plan is paused until early 2027 due to two separate appeals of the One Seattle Plan’s Final Environmental Impact Statement: one addressing environmental impacts in Puget Sound and the other concerning traffic congestion, parking, property values, and historic buildings.

A bill to eliminate these types of appeals, CB121215, is on the agenda for a vote at the full City Council meeting on July 28 th at 2:00 pm.

The Montlake Zoning Task Force, Seattle Residents for Thoughtful Growth, Tree Action Seattle, Green Neighborhoods Coalition and the Seattle Times are all opposing this bill which would eliminate citizen appeals on zoning changes in the future. We feel these appeals are critical especially when the impact on Seattle is so massive.

So, we are asking you to write Council@Seattle.gov, and our City Council Representative, Joy.Hollingswoth@Seattle.gov. In addition, please write to Eddie.Lin@Seattle.gov, the sponsor of CB121215. You can also attend the meeting in person or remotely.
