The Montlake Community Club Board of Directors is composed of the president or co-presidents, vice president, secretary and treasurer of the club, together with up to nine trustees.
Trustees contribute to discussions at monthly board meetings, share perspectives and concerns of neighbors, and volunteer for committee work.

second Tuesday of each month at 7:30pm.
Meet the FY26 Board

Ester Bergen
PRESIDENT
Ester has lived in Montlake since 2017, with her husband and two kids. She works at Microsoft, with a background in chemical engineering, quantitative finance, and management consulting. She loves building community and serves on boards for STEM Education and Women in STEM. She also enjoys cycling, CrossFit, and crafting.

Mary Kay Grossblatt
VICE PRESIDENT
Mary Kay moved to Montlake in 2015 with her husband Gary. Her favorite part of living in Montlake is the special combination it has as a beautiful, historic neighborhood, nestled in the middle of the city. Her goal is to contribute to Montlake so that it continues to thrive as a positive, supportive community for all its residents.

Thomas Brown
TREASURER
Tom and his partner Janice Sears have lived in Montlake since 2007, Tom having moved to Seattle from Denver after a career in the oil and gas business. In his spare time, you can find him walking in the Arboretum or up to Volunteer Park, hiking in pursuit of wildflowers, traveling, kayaking, reading, playing bridge, or gardening at home or in the East Gateway Park on the corner of 24 th and Boyer.

Maureen Brown
SECRETARY
Maureen has lived in Montlake for 27 years. She is a mostly retired Family Medicine physician. She volunteers with Sound Foundations helping to build tiny homes, and with the Seattle Asylum Forensic Evaluation Network and the Woodland Park Zoo’s Seattle Urban Carnivore Project. Her interests also include hiking, birding, gardening and photography.

Rachel Ben-Shmuel
TRUSTEE
Rachel has lived in Montlake for forty years, and feels like it is a special part of the City. She feels protective of those things that make Montlake unique yet acknowledge that it has to grow and change. Her professional background is in land use, planning and transportation. She loves to travel, hike and garden.

Carol Cordy
TRUSTEE
Carol and her family have lived in Montlake for 46 years. Her children attended Montlake School. Carol joined the Community Club Board in 2016 and has acted as Treasurer for nine years. Carol’s favorite Board projects have been the Turkey Trot fundraiser for the University District Food Bank and the Tiny House build.

John Cordy
TRUSTEE
John and his wife have been Montlake residents since 1979 and raised three children in the neighborhood. John has been active in the community in various ways including delivering the Montlake Flyer for many years, parking cars for football games at Montlake School, and volunteering in the Arboretum.

Jack Davidson
TRUSTEE
Jack grew up in Montlake and recently returned with his wife Emily after a decade in New York City. He joined the MCC to reconnect with the neighborhood and contribute to the community that shaped his early years, including his time at Montlake Elementary. You might spot Jack walking his dog Piper through the Arboretum, gardening at home on McGraw Street, or cycling the local greenways.

Danny Greco
TRUSTEE
Danny and his wife moved from Green Lake in 2015. Being involved in real estate, Montlake appealed to Danny because of its central location, its charming houses full of character, and walking to and from UW home games was a huge plus! As residents, they love the annual community events such as the Turkey Trot and yard sale.

Carla Leonardi
TRUSTEE
Carla Leonardi has lived in Montlake for 35 years. She is the owner of Cafe Lago, a quintessential neighborhood Italian restaurant situated in the beautiful Montlake Business District.

Miho Nasu
TRUSTEE
Miho moved to Montlake in 2021 from NY with her family. Miho particularly appreciates Montlake for its abundance of nature and friendly neighbors. Miho hopes to promote community engagement amongst residents of all ages and create a safe and supportive network in the neighborhood.
